An address blocks one sender. A domain blocks everybody at it, which is the right choice for a marketing platform that generates a new sender address per message.

What the sender sees

As little as possible. A blocklist that explains itself tells somebody exactly which of their addresses is blocked and invites them to use another.

Blocked counts

Each alias shows how much it has blocked. A rising number there is the clearest evidence that an address has leaked, and the address itself names the leak.

When to switch the alias off instead

If nearly everything arriving at one alias is unwanted, switching the alias off is better than blocking sender after sender. One gesture, permanent, and it costs you nothing because that address had already done its job.

Quarantine, if you are not sure

A rule can quarantine instead of blocking. The message is held rather than forwarded, so a decision made in irritation on a Monday is reversible on a Tuesday.
