About the service

Reporting an alias that is being used against you

How to report, what happens next, and what we can tell you.

An alias service is useful to people who want to be hard to track, and some of those people are not acting in good faith. If an address here is being used against you, report it.

How

Use the report page. No account is needed, and it accepts reports about any domain hosted here, including custom domains belonging to users.

Include the full message with its headers. The visible part of a message says very little; the headers are what let us identify the account behind an address.

What happens

The report reaches a human. Depending on what it shows, the outcome ranges from a warning to switching off an alias to closing an account. Where somebody is at risk, it is treated as urgent rather than as a queue.

What we will not do

Tell you who is behind an alias. Not because of what it would cost us, but because the same disclosure, made to the wrong requester, is exactly the harm this service is built to prevent. A court order is a different matter, and how those are handled is written in If an authority asks about you.

What we keep

Abuse reports and the decisions taken on them are kept for two years. They document a decision that somebody may contest, and a decision nobody can review is not accountable.

Written for people using Skudo. If a page here is wrong or missing, tell us.
