About the service

What the limits protect

Every number here exists to stop one account breaking everybody else's mail.

Every limit here has the same cause: our domains are shared, and one abusive account can get them blocked by the large mail providers. When that happens every alias belonging to every user stops working at once.

The numbers

  • Thirty new aliases a month on the bare shared domain, seventy five on your personal subdomain, no limit on a domain you own.
  • Thirty aliases in total while an account is new, until it has gone thirty days without an abuse report.
  • Reply only for thirty days. A new account can answer anybody, but cannot write first.
  • Five new aliases a day on a custom domain nobody has any history with, for a short period after you add it.
  • One gigabyte of forwarded mail a month.

They lift by themselves

There is nothing to request and nothing to pay. Time and an absence of complaints are the whole mechanism, which is the only version of trust that cannot be bought.

If a limit is in your way

Write to us and say what you are doing. A real use that runs into a number is worth hearing about, and some of these numbers are configurable per account. What we cannot do is remove the ones that protect the shared domains, because that protection is what every other user is relying on.

The one number that is not about abuse

Mailbox storage. That one is about disk, which costs money every month. See Storage.
